ABOUT DENTAL EMERGENCIES
EMERGENCY NEW PATIENT
INFORMATION
When dental emergencies happen, patients at ZEN DENTAL CENTER know they have someone to turn to for help Dr. Richard Miyata and his knowledgeable dental team are always here when patients need us. In fact, we can typically provide treatment for patients on the same day that they call during dental emergencies. If for any reason we’re unable to see patients on the day they contact us, we’ll walk them through at-home care and pain management over the phone. If you’re not sure whether or not your situation requires urgent dental care, we encourage you to contact our team anyway. We’ll discuss the situation with you over the phone and help you determine what the best course of action may be.
Some of the oral health emergencies we see most often include:
Knocked out teeth
or dental restorations
Broken, chipped, cracked teeth or dental restorations
Broken or bent dentures
Toothache that may be indicative of more severe
dental concerns
In some cases, patients can avoid emergencies by changing their habits. That includes discontinuing any habits like pencil, nail, or ice chewing that may lead to damage. We also recommend patients avoid using their teeth as a tool to open packages or crack nuts. Most importantly, maintaining a complete daily oral hygiene routine that includes thorough brushing and flossing will protect and strengthen your smile. If you’re ever concerned your emergency is life-threatening, don’t hesitate to contact us, but we encourage you to seek care at your local emergency clinic.
