Got a sweet tooth? Keep your teeth (and your dentist!) happy with this simple and delicious “ice cream” recipe that provides plenty of sweet satisfaction with no added sugar. Now that’s something to smile about!
1-Ingredient Banana Ice Cream
It doesn’t get any easier than this: all you need are bananas and a food processor, and just freeze and blend bananas for a deliciously cool and creamy treat! No added sugar, no chemical flavorings or additives, no guilt, 100% natural. For those with dietary restrictions, this “ice cream” is also lactose-free, gluten-free, and vegan.
Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas, sliced into 1-2 inch pieces and frozen
Directions:
1. Add bananas to your food processor and blend, occasionally scraping down the sides to ensure bananas are blended uniformly; approximately 3-5 minutes.
2. Scoop into a bowl and enjoy!
Want to recreate your favorite ice cream flavors?
Try some simple add-ins, such as:
Chocolate: Add 2 tablespoons cocoa or cacao powder
Strawberry: Add 1 cup frozen strawberries. To get yummy strawberry chunks, set aside about ¼ cup strawberries to process roughly at the end.
Green Tea: Add 1 ½ teaspoon green tea (matcha) powder
Other add-in ideas: frozen blueberries, nuts, honey, cinnamon, mint + chocolate chips, Nutella, any nut butter (peanut, almond, etc.). Feel free to experiment, this one is endlessly customizable!
You can make a bigger batch as long as your food processor is large enough and strong enough, too! This “banana ice cream” also freezes and keeps quite well - just freeze in an airtight container, and scoop and serve when you’re ready to eat like a regular pint of ice cream.
